Inspiration has been collected from a VARIATION of media, but mostly Castlevania, The Lost Boys, and the novelization of Let The Right One In. Dirk, while seemingly prim and proper, is highly dangerous, and can easily kill anything he sets his eyes upon that is his size or smaller ; this includes god tier characters.
If you don't want to suffer the consequence of his actions, do not provoke, antagonize, or otherwise harass Dirk. I will not hold back with characters prone to violence any longer.
As stated above, sexual content will be present, though you must be 18+ to engage. As Dirk is gay, there will be no contact or interest of this sort in women or those identifying as women.

December 3rd, 1779 - Versailles, France
Diederik Oliver Strider was born to a relatively large family, consisting of two elder brothers, and one younger, to parents whose names have been lost to the ages. The Striders, far from nobility, were a relatively humble clan, specializing in theatre and art, with the youngest being the prodigy within the family. The brothers, in order, were birthed Delrick, Dion, Dirk himself, and lastly, Davet - Cousins known were Roxane and Rosalie LaLonde.
However, revolution soon broke out across France, and in the interest of keeping everyone safe from rebels and the military alike, the family fractured and scattered across the country, with Dirk and his second-eldest brother heading to the epicenter - Paris.
Teen years were spent witnessing every incident, every event of the revolution, Dirk himself attending several public executions and growing number by the day to the growing and normalized violence. The revolt ended in 1799, and only four short years later, Dirk was declared dead.
However ; it was not so. A local cult had taken him in, uplifted him and given him hope - an option. To live as something greater, a being above the squabbling and filthy masses. In his own mind, it was ascension to wealth, and with that wealth, so many plans would come to fruition- but it was not so. This cult was not a group of religious fanatics, but a godless coven of ravenous vampires. Dirk was turned in the autumn of 1803.
Beginning years were difficult ; hunger was unmanageable, and Dirk was marginally responsible for a slur of murders in 1810, before - in silence- he fled France to live in London, England. A solitary creature there, Dirk endured the Victorian Era, and did many poorer families a service by "decommissioning" foremen of factories so many were forced to work in. Not all deeds, however, were good as his own murders and those of famed Jack the Ripper coincided, and the two would work in tandem, from time to time. Jack to claim a victim, and Dirk to find a meal.
At the turn of the century, Dirk once again fled the country, migrating then to America. The turmoil of the country was something of a titillation, the spawning of several wars in the 1900's holding and maintaining his interest. Though not of the living, Dirk maintained a humble enough occupation as a bookseller, dodging the draft by his pale looks alone.
Presently, he operates in Washington, just outside of Seattle. His shop specializes in an array of objects, and is a local favorite among the city for those seeking oddities and hard-to-find objects. Should his palm be greased, Dirk can easily acquire ancient and rare artifacts, pulling from his own collection from the centuries of his life and subsequent unlife. While his demeanor is standoffish, and his social skills are less than apt, Dirk is a relatively well-intended soul, killing few he feeds from, and doing his best to ensure the expeirence isn't as horrifying ( or, as pleasurable ) as media intends to show.

VAMPYRIC ABILITIES
Immortality - Vampires cease to physically age once turned and are exempt from disease. They can live forever unless killed. They heal from wounds faster than humans and they are resistant to physical pain. They regenerate much faster than humans to any non-fatal injuries. The process is sped up through consumption of blood.
Superhuman Strength - A lone vampire possess the strength of 20 or more men. Their physical strength far exceeds that of even the strongest of humans and they can surpass humans in all activities of strength. Half-vampires have a degree of enhanced strength, though not exactly as strong as full-vampire newborns. Vampires can overpower/kill both humans and younger vampires with ease. No human can overpower or manhandle them unless the vampire lets them. They can use their superior physical strength to kill humans in a variety of grisly ways, such as snapping their necks and ripping out internal organs. They can hurl, throw and manhandle humans with ease, as well as utilize their strength in both hand to hand and armed combat, giving them the edge.
Stamina: Vampires are full of stamina and they seem to be in a constant state of adrenaline rush and euphoria which makes them energetic and takes away their fear.
Superhuman Speed - Their speed is increased to vast degrees. They can outrun and catch humans with ease. Their speed degree is dependent on their will, their speed ranges from beyond athletic, nothing but a blur of movement, to being faster than the eye can see.
Superhuman Senses - Their senses are far greater than those of humans and they can see into spectrums that humans can't, such as night vision.
Superhuman Agility - Vampires are far more agile and flexible than humans. They can perform astounding acrobatic and dexterous feats with ease.
Superhuman Durability - Vampires have regenerative abilities that allow them to withstand far more harm than humans can before succumbing to death.
Mental Powers - Mental powers vary from vampire breed and individual. They also are capable of mesmerism; for example, vampires can hypnotize human prey.
Soul Destruction - UNIQUE VAMPYRIC SKILL. As many vampires are able to develop and foster certain special skills, Dirk's own is known as Soul Destruction. This ability gives him the power to completely eradicate any human-borne soul, be the human living still, or dead. Along with destruction, he is able to capture and subjugate the soul, hosting it in various objects. For instance, Dirk may take one soul, and slip it into an inanimate object, such as a crystal or doll.
Mild Necromancy - Many Vampires have the ability to raise the dead for the short time, and control them in ways to do their bidding. A cornered or injured vampire is easily able to use the dead as shields, or distractions in order to make an escape. Necromanced creatures are still substantially weaker than vampires, but can overwhelm in great numbers.

While Trolls are not viable in this universe, I am more than willing to accept human/vampirestuck trolls. I will have to discuss plans and intentions with the applying individual and give them a fair place in the verse to ensure their representation, but I am nothing if not accommodating.
In terms of factions, at this very moment there sit a rough three ; Vampires, Werewolves, and those individuals whose lives are devoted to hunting down and slaying the supernatural for the betterment and safety of mankind. The factions, for centuries, have been in conflict with one another, with only some regions developing some alliances or truces.
However, Seattle is not one of those places. While Dirk himself has no issue with the opposing two sides, his presence creates an unrest and difficulty for both Werewolves and hunters alike.
HUNTERS: Use an array of weaponry in order to slay their targets. Vampire weaknesses and those of Werewolves may not be the same, but no hunter is unprepared. More often categorized by their handy packs / belts and hefty journals, they are passive to humans, but hostile toward Supernatural entities. The Harleys and the Egberts are well-established and ages old Hunter Families, hailing from the Pacific Islands, originally, before expanding outward to live in North America, and Europe. Theodore Jacob English was amidst the most famed, though he was so due to his willingness to forage peace with these creatures, rather than hunt and mount them.
WEREWOLVES: Much like the common Lycanthrope, Werewolf transformations are triggered by not only the Full Moon's presence, but extreme bouts of emotion - Rage, being the more common trigger. While they are Supernatural in themselves, Werewolves are more likely to ally or even enlist to be within Hunter Ranks, due to their vehement hatred and distaste for the undead. Werewolves tend to be close knit packs of either blood relatives, or extremely close friends, with a specific pack order of one Alpha, and the others fall in line behind. Werewolves can be such by blood, or cursed by the Beasts' Bite, in which case, they often fall in line with the lower-ranking wolves, and are more volatile emotionally.

-Tears are not a saline fluid ; but are, in fact, blood.
-Dirk owns a wine brand, known as the Blood of Christ - A wine infused with O+ blood and wine itself, marketed specifically to the Underground Vampyric Market. Though, bottles have been known to surface in the human world.
-Though he has no living family ( that he is aware of ), Dirk has a pseudo-daughter by the name of Reese, a troll he had taken into his home and cares for.
-One of Dirk's first loves was a man by the name of Theodore Jacob English. To some, this may sound familiar, as in this timeline, Theodore is Jake's ancestor, based in London and a famed Big Game Hunter.
-Dirk has killed upwards of 112 Nazis from WWII, and maintains that killing Nazis is a civil service.
-Dirk fought for Civil Rights during the era, and bears small scars from wounds incurred at the time.
-Dirk has met a triage of historical figures, and can easily regale interested parties with tales of them, should the know his secret.
-Many encounters with werewolves has been had, and Dirk finds himself with a distaste for the canine shapeshifters. He will not be the first to violently act out, by any means, but he will also not be the first to extend a branch of peace.
-While he was alive, he was an aspiring actor.
-He has a mastery of the violin, and still plays in his home. Piano is somewhat rudimentary, but he can easily learn should his mind be put to it.
-Dirk is an avid listener of Classical Music, but does enjoy other genres just as much, once exposed to them.
